ALLEN CHOONG CHING YET

Experience:
Mr. Allen Choong is called to the Malaysian Bar on 8.8.1998.
He is one of the few in Malaysia who holds both Certificate in Legal Practice from Malaysia Legal Profession Qualifying Board and the title of “Barrister-at-Law” from Lincoln’s Inn, United Kingdom.
He founded Allen & Associates on 1.1.2010.
His legal experience during the past twenty two years encompasses a wide scope of work. These include conducting trials in the High Court of Malaya as lead counsel, as well as handling of appellate matters in Courts of Appeal and Federal Court.
He focuses on civil and corporate litigation especially in the area of debt recovery, family and child matters, estate succession, banking and company law.
He also handles property conveyancing for both residential and commercial properties. He has advised bank and financial institutions on various aspects of banking law with emphasis on securities and dealings under the National Land Code 1965. Furthermore, He liaises with property developers, property managers, end-financiers, statutory bodies and other government agencies.
He has actively focused his area of practice on the legal aspects of managing and administrating sub-divided buildings within the ambit of the Strata Titles Act 1985; addressing a growing need to address the concerns of a rapidly progressive society on Penang Island. To this end, he is often called to provide legal opinions and practical solutions to problems affecting various parties ranging from the formation of the Management Corporation and Joint Management Bodies to the plight of the individual house-owners.
He was also a part-time lecturer and course facilitator in legal studies, at several educational institutions including Segi University College, Kemayan ATC between 1996 and 2005.

LEE KHENG HONG

Experience:
Mr. Lee Kheng Hong is called to the Malaysian Bar on 28.8.1999.
His legal experience during the past twenty one years includes civil litigation and conveyancing works such bankruptcy and company winding-up matters, probate and estate matters, civil recovery litigation, family matters such as divorce and adoption, land disputes, landlord and tenant matters, corporate and company litigation, personal injuries and accident cases, industrial and labour matter litigation, late delivery claims, shares and securities cases, property management litigation such as recovery of service charges, defamation cases, construction and building litigations and other general advisory services relating thereof.
He also handles conveyancing matters involving individual sale and purchase of property or land, housing schemes, and corporate loan and related banking and securities documentation for loan and other banking facilities.
He also involved in drafting and handling corporate and commercial matters such as partnership agreement, joint venture agreement, shareholders agreement, put and call option agreement and merger and acquisition agreements, Memorandum of Understanding, dealership agreement, distribution agreement, licence agreement, manufacture agreement, commercial loan agreement, rescission agreement.
He also involved in various other works such as drafting creation of trusts and wills, separation agreement and deeds of dissolution in divorce matter, friendly loan agreement and tenancy agreement.
Mr Lee is currently the partner in our Petaling Jaya office.Many of the cases handled by Mr. Lee have been reported in Malaysia Law Journals. This include cases on Construction claim in Court or by filing under Construction Industry Payment & Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPAA) where Mr. Lee has managed to obtain judgment with payments made to client.
Mr. Lee also succeed in claiming on behalf of client for damage of hundred of thousands against third party in a disputed divorce proceeding. In another cases involving family estate claim, Mr. Lee has succeeded in claiming half a million on behalf of the beneficiaries of the deceased.
Mr. Lee has also successfully defended client in an Income Tax case involving large amount where Income Tax office finally settled with client.
